The person behind the care

Care begins with knowing the person.

Their history, their habits, their humor. The little things that make them who they are.

The people I care for are not defined by their age or their limitations. They have a lifetime of relationships, accomplishments, and memories. Getting to know that person helps me offer care that feels familiar, respectful, and personal.

Not for who they've become. For everything they've ever been.
Warm bedside companionship

Sometimes care is as simple as remembering the hummingbirds.

When I visited Charles, we loved sitting outside and watching the hummingbirds. When his hands became unsteady, I filled the feeder for him.

Later, when he moved into a care facility, I brought his feeder and hung it outside his window. He could still enjoy those familiar visitors, even though so much around him had changed.

That is the kind of care I believe in. Not just tending to someone's needs, but remembering what brings them joy.

Founder, Humble Stewards

A personal touch. A thoughtful approach.

Technology supports the care.
It never replaces the heart.

Before founding Humble Stewards, I spent more than a decade as a high-tech corporate manager in Silicon Valley. That experience taught me the value of organization, clear communication, and following through on the details.

Today, those skills help me keep families informed and bring thoughtful structure to personal care. The most important part of my work is still showing up, listening, and truly getting to know the person in front of me.

Present for them. Peace for you.
